My dog is now almost a 1.5 old and she is coming along fine.  I have had my challenges and hopefully some of my wisdom will help someone else out there. 

Last year was here first hunting season.  She was young.  I like to hunt quiet and mostly let the dog do their own thing.  I never talk to the dog and order it around.  I let them discovery what is out there, especially for the first  2 seasons of the dogs life.

I live in Northen wiscosin, where there are no pheasants, but plent of grouse, woodcocks, and ducks to find.  I am estimating that Scout retrieved 25 birds last year which is a pretty good. year.

This summer i am starting the formal yard training with my dog.  We are working of whoa, fetch, and blind retrieves soon enough.
