For those who have read about the MO 75, we now have a forum area where you can help them and the rescue effort out (and if you haven't, read about them at http://www.gspca.org/Rescue/missouri75.html or several threads in the message board here).  Several prominent handlers have volunteered to handle your dog at the GSPCA National Specialty Show in Denver this year.  Take a look at the GSPCA section of the forums, in the MO 75 area to place a bid.  If you aren't going to the Nationals there are still ways to donate.

Got word that Buster (Lowrys Eagle Ridge V Rugerheim) finished his Dual Championship this weekend, winning a 5 point retrieving major!  Buster is the sire of Dixie's last litter.

If you sign up here PLEASE allow email from shorthairs.net and whc.net.  I'm really tired of getting requests from earthlink and a couple other providers with messages like "I only allow mail from senders I have approved" and frankly, getting those messages for every message the board tries to send to you is spam to me.  I will not "click here" to fill out a questionaire so you can allow mail from the message board.  I'll start deleting any users who I get those messages from.

A few have had problems getting registered, most related to not received the confirmation email.  The first thing to check is your junk email folder (if you have one) or check with your ISP to see if they are blocking any messages.  If you do run into problems, you can email me using the same email address you registered with and I'll manually validate you.  However, unless you include the username you used I can't do anything.  Please, when emailing about problems here, INCLUDE YOUR USERNAME!!!  If it is regarding other problems, include as many details as you can.  I try to work through and fix any problems reported, but when I have to email back and forth just to find out enough info to fix it, it adds time and work to the process.

Please note that this is an entirely new site.  Usernames and passwords were not moved over from the old forum, so you will need to register here again (I made an announcement in the forum several weeks ago alerting everyone to this so they could come and get their username before someone else took it).  There is a link near the upper left corner of this page to the old forum, which will still use your old login and password.  Once I'm satisfied things are working here, I'll lock the old forum for posting (I will leave it up for archives unless/until I can move those messages to the new message board).

Bottom line, if you have never logged in here, you will need to create a new login.

I've enabled the web logs (Blogs) so registered user can create their own journal.  Photo galleries should be next.

For those who like to spell words more than one way, you can download an add-on spell checker that will work in conjunction with the editor used here on shorthairs.net.  It will also work with other local applications you may have, and it is free to download and use.  The link is included in this announcements, just download it and run the .exe file.  After that, the spell-check button in the editor here will run that utility.
